Question 7: Where should I install the wall mount?

Notes:

  • Your TV should be high enough so that your eyes are level with the middle of the screen. This is normally 40 to 60 inches from the ground. Keep in mind that the center of your TV will match the center of the wall plate and that the wall mount moves up and down 16”.
  • For an easy height calculation, use Best Buy’s online HeightFinder™ Installation Assistant at http://mf1.bestbuy.selectionassistant.com/index.php/heightfinder

To determine the wall mount location:

  1. Measure the distance from the bottom of your TV to the middle (half of the height of the TV). This is measurement a.
  2. Measure the distance from the floor to where you want the bottom of the TV to be positioned on the wall. Keep in mind that this TV mount can move down 16” from the center of the wall plate. This is measurement b.
  3. Add a + b. The total measurement is the height where you want the center of your TV to be.
  4. Use a pencil to mark this spot on the wall.

Question 8: Do I have to install this wall mount on a stud?

  • Yes. If you are mounting your TV on a wood stud wall, you must attach two lag bolts to the center of a stud. Use the snap toggles to attach the other bolts into the wallboard. See the User Manual for more information.

Warning: Risk of injury or property damage if the wall mount is not installed correctly.
