1: How do I setup my Rocketboost Wireless Audio Devices?

Have you tried using your quick start guide to help you through this process? If more help is needed please follow the steps below.

  • Every Rocketboost network must contain only one hub device, which helps devices join the network. There can be more than one Rocketboost Network in a house, but it is not recommended.
  • Turn any Rocketboost sender/receiver into a hub by using the HUB STATUS switch on the back of the device.
  • If this is your first Rocketboost product, you should make this device the hub (your sender/receiver has Hub mode already enabled by default).
  • If you already have a working Rocketboost network, disable hub mode on this device.
  • To disable hub mode, slide the HUB STATUS switch to DISABLE, then power cycle the sender/receiver.
    • The hub device must have power for the audio network to operate. The hub can be in standby (power-saving mode), but must remain plugged in.
    • To setup and join your sender/receiver as a sender:
  1. Raise the antennas to the vertical position.
  2. Use the included audio cable to connect the AUDIO IN jack on the sender/receiver to the audio output jack on the audio source (such as an A/V receiver, PC, or iPod).
  3. Connect the power adapter to the DC IN jack on the sender/receiver and into a power outlet. The sender/receiver automatically turns on.
  4. If possible, have the devices in the same room for the joining process, before everything is hooked up and moved to separate rooms.
  5. Slide the HUB STATUS switch to ENABLE if the sender/receiver is being used as the network hub. Otherwise, set it to DISABLE.
    1. The power indicator turns green when the HUB STATUS switch is set to ENABLE.
    2. The power indicator turns blue when the HUB STATUS switch is set to DISABLE.
    3. Turn the sender/receiver Off, then turn it On.
    4. Press and hold the power/join button on the sender/receiver for more than three seconds to put it into joining mode. The power indicator light starts blinking rapidly.
    5. Press and hold the power/join button on a compatible Rocketboost wireless device for more than three seconds to put it into joining mode. The power indicator starts blinking rapidly. The device will remain in joining mode for about 30 seconds.
      1. The power indicator lights steadily if the joining was successful.
      2. The power indicator blinks slowly if the joining was not successful.

                                                                                          i.    Repeat steps 6 and 7 if this occurs.

  1. After an audio source is connected, the sender/receiver automatically begins sending wireless audio, and the TX indicator turns on.
  • To setup and join your sender/receiver as a receiver:
  1. Raise the antennas to the vertical position.
  2. Use the included audio cable to connect the AUDIO OUT jack on the sender/receiver to the audio input jack of the speaker/amplifier system. You may also need to use the mini stereo-to-RCA cable splitter.
  3. Connect the power adapter to the DC IN jack on the sender/receiver and into a power outlet. The sender/receiver automatically turns on.
  4. If possible, have the devices in the same room for the joining process, before everything is hooked up and moved to separate rooms.
  5. Make sure the sender/receiver is turned on, then press and hold the power/join button on the sender/receiver for more than three seconds to put it into joining mode. The device will remain in joining mode for about 30 seconds. The power indicator light starts blinking rapidly.
  6. Press and hold the power/join button on a compatible Rocketboost wireless device for more than three seconds to put it into joining mode. The power indicator starts blinking rapidly.
    1. The power indicator lights steadily if the joining was successful.
    2. The power indicator blinks slowly if the joining was not successful.

                                                                                          i.    Repeat steps 5 and 6 if this occurs.

  • The Rocketboost sender/receiver can be used simultaneously as a sender and receiver.
  1. Raise the antennas to the vertical position.
  2. Use the included audio cable to connect the AUDIO IN jack on the sender/receiver to the audio output jack on the audio source (such as an A/V receiver, PC, or iPod).
  3. Use the included audio cable to connect the AUDIO OUT jack on the sender/receiver to the audio input jack of the speaker/amplifier system. You may also need to use the mini stereo-to-RCA cable splitter.
  4. Connect the power adapter to the DC IN jack on the sender/receiver and into a power outlet. The sender/receiver automatically turns on.

  • If Yes, make sure both the sender and receiver devices are plugged in.
  1.
    • The unobstructed operating range of a Rocketboost network is 150 feet (45 meters).
    • Each network must also contain both a sender device and a receiver device. Do you have both a sender and a receiver device?
  1. If the devices are more than 20 ft. apart or in separate rooms, bring them into the same room, plug them into an outlet and power them on.
  2. Make sure the antennas are raised on the sender and receiver devices.
  3. If the sender is the first sender in the Rocketboost network, make sure the HUB STATUS or HUB ENABLE is set to ENABLE.

9: My audio has static noise or breaks up.

  • Make sure all of the cables are connected correctly to the Rocketboost devices.
  • Keep in mind the unobstructed operating range of a Rocketboost network is 150 feet (45 meters). If the devices are further apart than this your audio may have static noise or break up.
  • It is possible other devices like cordless phones, microwaves, wireless routers, etc. may be causing interference. Try turning one device off at a time to determine which device is causing interference.
  • If your cordless phone or wireless router is causing interference try changing the channel it is using. Please refer to your device’s owner manual.
