Question 1: What is range of the transmitter and receiver?

  • This system delivers 1080p full HD video and audio content anywhere in your home, using your home’s power lines. Power line transmission results in great range and high performance video without wireless interference or Wi-Fi range limitations. Generally speaking, for most typical size homes, range is not an issue, if you have a power outlet you should be able to receive video.

Question 2: What do the Sync indicator lights on the transmitter and receiver mean?

  • The  Sync Indicator_icon2.png (Sync) indicators blink when the transmitter and receiver are turned on and are establishing a connection over the power line. When they are connected, the indicators blink slower (good connection) or light solid (perfect connection) when connected. The slower the Sync indicator blinks, the better the connection. You can watch videos and hear audio through your TV even if the lights are blinking.

Question 3: How many devices can I connect to the transmitter?

  • You can connect two devices to the transmitter. However, you may only use one device at a time. The HD extender only shows the video output from the video source devices that it is connected to. It is not an additional TV tuner for your cable or TV service. You cannot view content from multiple sources at the same time.

  • The transmitter and receiver have holes on the back for wall mounting.

Question 5: How do I set up the HD extender?

  • See the documentation that came with your HD extender. The documentation is also available at  rocketfishproducts.com. Search for “RF-HPL302,” then click the Support/Downloads tab on the product page.
  • View the setup video on the product page. Go to rocketfishproducts.com, search for “RF‑HPL302”, then click Videos on the product page.

Question 6: Can I use multiple HD extenders in my home?

  • You can use up to three HD extender pairs in your home. Each new transmitter and receiver pair forms a new and unique power line network. The video transmitted from each transmitter can only be viewed at the receiver it is paired to.

Question 7: How do I turn the transmitter and receiver on and off?

  • When you turn your source devices on, your transmitter and receiver automatically turn on. When you turn your source devices off, your transmitter and receiver enter standby mode after a few minutes of inactivity.
    OR
    Press the Power buttons on the receiver and transmitter to turn them on or enter standby mode.

Question 8: Why can’t I view different channels or video content?

  • The HD extender only shows the output from the source devices that it is connected to. It is not an additional TV tuner for your cable or TV service. You cannot view content from multiple sources at the same time.

Question 9: What should I do if my remote control will not control my source device?

  • Make sure that the IR emitter cable is connected securely to the IR OUT jack on the transmitter and is covering your video source’s IR sensor.
  • If the receiver’s IR sensor is blocked (for example, inside a cabinet and cannot receive a signal), make sure that the IR receiver cable is connected to the IR IN jack on the receiver. Attach the other end of the receiver cable to your TV or another convenient place that can receive the remote control signal.
    Note: Do not place the IR receiver over the IR window of your TV.
  • Make sure that your video source is connected to the transmitter correctly and securely.
  • Make sure that you have selected the correct source for your transmitter and receiver. The source indicators light to show which source is selected (1 or 2). You can select the source with the remote control or buttons on the transmitter or receiver.
  • Make sure that you have selected the correct source (input) on your TV.
  • Make sure that you are pointing the remote control at the sensor of the IR receiver cable.
    OR
    If you did not attach an IR receiver cable, point your remote control at the sensor on your receiver.
  • Your remote control batteries may be low. Replace the batteries.
